Thrive LA members prioritized the safety of all Angelenos in a recent conversation with Nathan Hochman, candidate for Los Angeles District Attorney.
Thrive LA recently hosted its largest membership event to date, featuring a compelling discussion with Nathan Hochman, candidate for Los Angeles District Attorney. Hochman shared his comprehensive plan for making Los Angeles safer, emphasizing several key areas:
Public Safety and Crime Reduction: Hochman stressed the need to reverse current DA George Gascón’s policies, arguing they have led to increased crime rates. He committed to enforcing stricter prosecution for violent crimes and organized retail theft and discussed plans to amend Proposition 47 to address its perceived leniency and its role in rising property crimes.
Independent Leadership: As an independent candidate, Hochman emphasized his goal to remove political influences from the DA's office. With 34 years of criminal justice experience, including roles as a federal prosecutor and U.S. Assistant Attorney General, he highlighted his qualifications to lead effectively and impartially.
Collaboration with Law Enforcement: Hochman underscored the importance of rebuilding trust and cooperation with law enforcement agencies. He criticized the current administration’s adversarial stance towards the police and committed to fostering a collaborative environment to enhance public safety efforts.
Victim Support and Community Engagement: Hochman promised to prioritize victims' rights and ensure they receive necessary resources and support throughout the legal process. He also advocated for greater transparency in the DA's office and increased community involvement in shaping public safety policies.
