A lifelong Angeleno, Christy Vega is the owner of Casa Vega, a cherished family-run Mexican restaurant in Sherman Oaks. With over 20 years of experience, she has modernized the business while honoring its deep roots. As a passionate community advocate and mother of four, Christy is dedicated to building coalitions that strengthen Los Angeles and support a thriving community of small businesses.

Ryan Afari

Board Secretary 

Ryan Afari is the Director of Acquisitions at Hillcrest, where he leads a team in strategic investments and urban development. A Cornell University graduate with a background in real estate, Ryan has developed housing at all income levels, with a particular passion and focus on the adaptive reuse of historic buildings in Los Angeles. Deeply committed to community impact, Ryan served for many years as Chair of Land Use and Management for the Downtown LA Neighborhood Council and has held leadership roles in several civic organizations across Los Angeles.

Ana Teresa Dahan

Executive Director

Ana Teresa Dahan brings deep experience in campaign strategy, field operations, and coalition-building across Los Angeles and key jurisdictions nationwide. Her work has focused on advancing pragmatic leadership around housing, public safety, and economic opportunity through disciplined strategy and on-the-ground engagement.

As Executive Director of Thrive LA, Ana leads the organization’s political and civic strategy, guiding coalition development, field efforts, and long-term planning as Thrive prepares for the 2026 election cycle and City Council races.
