Thriving in Polarizing Times: A Recap of A Women-led Panel Event

Thrive LA and Latinas Lead host inspiring panel with civic leaders on navigating leadership in polarizing times

Last Thursday morning, Thrive LA, in partnership with Latinas Lead, hosted an inspiring panel event that brought together powerful civic voices to discuss what it takes to lead during these polarizing times.

Featuring Los Angeles Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez (District 7), Jessica Lall, Managing Director of CBRE, and Lilly Rocha, Executive Director and Founder of the Latino Restaurant Association, and Natalie Samarjian, President and CEO of CORO Southern California, the panel delved into the complexities of addressing public challenges amidst a volatile political climate. Despite these hurdles, the leaders emphasized optimism, highlighting “consensus-building” as the hallmark of effective leadership. They shared strategies for building alliances with diverse community partners, achieving shared victories through compromise, standing up to special interests on behalf of constituents, and acknowledging the role each sector plays in maintaining a balance across the many ecosystems of our local economies.

A heartfelt thank you to Latinas Lead, our panelists, and guests for their enduring commitment to fostering more inclusive and robust civic leadership. Stay engaged and join us in driving impactful change in our community.
